We are just about here! With fifteen days left in 2019, I am still working on *the last book* of my reading challenge. In years past I usually finish my challenge in late September or early October, but 2019 has been jam packed with work and shows and travelling and it has chipped into my time for reading, BUT, I have loved all of my endeavors and I am pretty confident I’ll be able to finish my current read and achieve my goal!
All of that said, I saw Elaine Howlin post this book tag and I’ve decided to join in! Full disclosure: I did edit one of the prompts and added one of my own, but it’s the same general idea!
Now. Let’s do this!
Have you started anything this year that you still need to finish?
I am currently working on The War of the End of the World by Mario Vargas Llosa. As I type this I’m on page 33 of 568, but this will likely be my last book of the year, and it will complete my reading challenge!
Do you have an autumn/winter book to transition into the new year?
This time of year is usually when I re-read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I’m not sure what it is about the Narnia series but they’re all just so well-suited for newness and fresh starts 🙂
Any new releases you’re still waiting for?
I’m excited for Mr. Nobody by Catherine Steadman! I really enjoyed Something in the Water, so I’m definitely looking forward to her next book.
Anything you want to read before the end of the year?
I’d love, love, love to try to tackle The Starless Sea before the year’s end!
Favorite read of 2019:
I’ll have to call it a tie between Wuthering Heights and The Silent Patient, neither of which, of course, did I post reviews for. *facepalm*
Have you started reading plans for 2020?
I do know that I’ll be keeping my 2020 goal at 78 books. I don’t know what the next year will bring, but I imagine it’ll be much of the same as this year, so I welcome the challenge again! Going into 2019, one of my resolutions was to read more classics, which I did quite successfully! I’d really like to set another resolution similar to this one for 2020, but I’m still pondering what it may be!
This was a fun, quick, and easy tag, and I encourage all of you to participate! If you’ve made it this far, thanks very much, and as always, happy reading!
