October is a very busy month for me, as the theatre and choral seasons are now back in full swing, and I’ll be in an opera, a cabaret, and an oratorio ALL this month! This means, of course, loads of rehearsals. *Note: this is not a complaint and I adore what I do!* I anticipate between rehearsals, performances, and work, I might not have a ton of reading time this month, so I’m keeping my TBR/monthly goal to a respectable four books.
First up is Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows. I’m not totally familiar with this book other than that I’ve seen it– and its eye-catching cover!– on many lists and I’ve heard really great things about it. This is my book club book this month, and while I won’t be able to make the meeting, I’m really looking forward to reading this! (Frequent visitors will remember the Mrs. Everything fiasco from last month’s book club, so here’s hoping for an improvement!)
Next on my TBR is Miracle Creek. I selected this as my Book of the Month pick a few months back and was really drawn in by the whole mysterious-courtroom-drama vibe. I was raised in a Law & Order and Columbo loving home, so this seems like it’ll fit the bill quite nicely.
Third– though I’m likely to read this first!– is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I will *finally* be finishing of my Harry Potter re-read (yes, the one that began in July and took a brief hiatus until mid-September) just in time for Halloween spookiness, falling leaves, and cooler temperatures.
And finally, another Book of the Month pick, I have Lock Every Door. Every review I’ve read of this is absolutely chilling, and I’m so excited!! I haven’t read too, too many thrillers lately, save The Turn of the Key and The Silent Patient, so I’m looking forward to a really eerie experience with it!
Well, it’s a modest list, but there it is! What do you all have on your October TBRs? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
Happy fall, and happy reading!
