The Nightingale — Kristin Hannah

Read date: July 25, 2017
Rating: 5/5
Format: Print book

Harrowing wartime conditions in occupied France are depicted with intensity; Vianne and Isabelle are remarkable women who are depicted both with immense strength and authentic humanity, growing and being shaped through the course of the novel. The strength and constant development of the characters is just one of the beautifully attractive qualities of this multi-faced WWII story which proves itself intense, romantic, somber with the turn of each page. The reader will find herself crying, reeling, holding her breath at the descriptive prose and will be eager to read it again.
